Hackney is a multi-faceted area and one which has benefited from a real boom in recent years, meaning it now boasts consistently increasing house prices. The East London line now offers the area direct access to the West End and the City, plus the 2012 Olympics saw the area go through some major regeneration making it a hugely desirable location.
Areas of note in Hackney include the Hackney Downs Park, which with its own railway station from Liverpool Street and recent improvements done to the area is now a much loved ‘green’ space for residents. Hackney Empire is known internationally for its opera, comedy, musicals and touring productions and as such is a real gem in Hackney’s crown. There is also a traditional lido for open air swimming as well as the nearby Broadway market.
Hackney is home to some marvellous eateries, pubs, clubs and bars including Dove Bar, the eclectic Kenton, financiers favourite Cat & Mutton and for the more traditional pallet, Pembury Tavern and the Prince George. This exciting part of East London has a thriving cultural scene and with so much choice on your doorstep you will not be short of venues for a great family Sunday lunch or a fun Friday night out.
The housing itself in Hackney ranges from modern apartments and housing developments, to converted schools and industrials buildings and beautiful period georgian terraces, so no matter whether you are a City professional, a family or an artist, there is something for practically every taste and requirement.
